Definition of a utility model
A utility model is a new technical solution relating to the shape or structure of a product, or a combination thereof, that improves its performance. A utility model is registrable where it is new and has industrial applicability.
Note 1 — Protection of utility models is confined to products and does not extend to processes.
Note 2 — Protection of utility models does not extend to products that are chemical substances, compound substances, or composites.
