Article 84

An industrial design is registrable when it is new and original.

Note 1 — "New" means that it has not been disclosed to the public anywhere in the world through tangible publication or through use in any other manner before the filing date of the application or, as the case may be, before the priority date of the application for registration.

Note 2 — "Original" means that it has been created independently by the designer and is not a copy or imitation of existing designs.
