Filing date

The Registration Authority shall treat the filing date as the date of receipt of the application. Where the application has deficiencies, a period of one month shall be granted to correct and complete it, provided that it has at least the minimum conditions necessary for accepting the application — namely, an express or implied request for registration, particulars enabling the identity of the applicant or their representative to be ascertained and contact to be made with them, and a graphic representation of the industrial design. Where the application has deficiencies and a period is granted for correction, the date of receipt of the corrections shall be deemed the filing date.

Note — If the application lacks the above conditions, the Registration Authority shall reject the application and, where it has access to the contact information of the applicant or their representative, notify them of the matter.
