Electronic registration system
The Registration Authority must design and implement all the stages and processes of registering inventions, industrial designs, trademarks, utility models, collective marks, certification marks, and trade names, and the changes relating to them, in the form of an electronic system. The Authority must also maintain, in an up-to-date manner, all the information, announcements, and matters that are publishable under this Act, in the "Industrial Property Electronic System" — which ensures their accuracy, integrity, and validity — and make them available to the public at the time prescribed under this Act. All the information referred to in this Article, except for matters that are confidential under the laws and rules, must be accessible to all through a search engine. The address declared to the Registration Authority, or the address in the electronic system of the Registration Authority, shall be deemed the address of record for notification at all administrative and judicial stages.
Note 1 — The funds required to implement this Article shall be provided from the revenues derived from the implementation of this Act, in the annual budget laws.
Note 2 — The Registration Authority is obliged to publish the index of registered inventions in compliance with the standards of the "Internationally agreed Numbers for the Identification of Bibliographic Data" (INID Codes) and the "WIPO Standards."
Note 3 — The Registration Authority is obliged to provide the possibility of international searching of inventions registered in Iran, with the aim of safeguarding the achievements of Iranian inventors.
