Article 136

The Registration Authority must design and implement all stages and processes of registration of inventions, industrial designs, trademarks, utility models, collective marks, certification marks, and trade names, and the changes relating to them, in the form of an electronic system. The said authority must also maintain all information, notices, and matters that are publishable under this Act, in up-to-date form, in the "Industrial Property Electronic System," which shall ensure their accuracy, integrity, and authenticity, and make them available to the public at the times prescribed by this Act. All information referred to in this Article — except matters deemed confidential under laws and regulations — must be accessible to everyone through a search engine. The address declared to the Registration Authority, or the address existing in the electronic system of the Registration Authority, shall be deemed the address of record for service in all administrative and judicial stages.

Note 1 — The funds required for implementation of this Article shall be provided for in the annual budget laws from the revenues derived from implementation of this Act.

Note 2 — The Registration Authority is obliged to publish the index of registered inventions in compliance with the rules of the "Internationally agreed Numbers for the Identification of (bibliographic) Data" (INID codes) and the "WIPO Standards."

Note 3 — The Registration Authority is obliged to provide the possibility of international searching of inventions registered in Iran, with the aim of preserving the achievements of Iranian inventors.
