Article 140
The fees relating to the process of registration of inventions, industrial designs, trademarks, utility models, collective marks, certification marks, and trade names are determined in accordance with the following table:

- 1.The fees for registration processes of legal persons are five times the fees of natural persons.
- 2.Knowledge-based companies approved by the Vice-Presidency for Science and Technology are exempt from payment of fifty percent (50%) of patent registration fees.
- 3.The fees for utility model registration processes are half the fees for patent registration.
- 4.The amounts stated in this table shall be adjusted once every three years in proportion to the inflation rate announced by the Central Bank, upon the proposal of the Registration Authority and approval of the Head of the Judiciary.
Note 1 — The renewal fee of registered trademarks renewed after the date this Act enters into force shall also be calculated on the basis of the fee table.
Note 2 — The Registration Authority is obliged to respond, without collecting a fee, to inquiries from governmental and state bodies, the courts, the police force, and other competent legal bodies. Where the inquiry is from non-governmental natural and legal persons, the Registration Authority must collect the inquiry fees in accordance with the table of this Article.
Note 3 — The revenues derived from implementation of this Act shall, after deposit with the Treasury and within the framework of annual budgets, be spent — up to a ceiling of fifty percent (50%) — on executive matters, infrastructure development, human resources, and the promotion and development of a culture of intellectual property.
