Fees

- 1.The registration-process fees for legal persons are five times the fees for natural persons.
- 2.Knowledge-based companies approved by the Vice-Presidency for Science and Technology are exempt from paying fifty percent (50%) of the patent registration fees.
- 3.The registration-process fees for utility models are half the patent registration fees.
- 4.The amounts stated in this table shall be adjusted once every three years, in proportion to the inflation rate announced by the Central Bank, upon the proposal of the Registration Authority and the approval of the Head of the Judiciary.
Note 1 — The renewal fee for registered trademarks renewed after the date of entry into force of this Act shall also be calculated on the basis of the fees table.
Note 2 — The Registration Authority is obliged to respond, without charge, to the inquiries of governmental and state bodies, courts, the police, and other competent legal bodies. The Registration Authority must, where the inquiry is from non-governmental natural and legal persons, charge the inquiry fees in accordance with the table of this Article.
Note 3 — The revenues derived from the implementation of this Act shall, after being deposited in the Treasury, be allocated within the framework of the annual budgets, up to a ceiling of fifty percent (50%), to executive matters, infrastructure development, human resources, and the promotion and development of an intellectual property culture.
