Applications under the Paris Convention

Where a person, under the "Act Permitting the Accession of the Government of Iran to the International General Union Known as Paris for the Protection of Industrial, Commercial and Agricultural Property" (adopted 1 March 1959 / 10/12/1337), files an application for a patent with the registration authority of one of the countries that, at the time of filing, was a member of the convention, that person — subject to the provisions of this Act and the said convention, hereinafter referred to in this Act as the "Paris Convention" — has a right of priority over other persons for a period of twelve months from the date of filing of that application.

Note — Where the patent applicant claims two or more earlier applications, the priority period shall be calculated from the date of filing of the first application.
