Article 22

Where the applicant for registration has, before filing the application with the Registration Authority, filed a patent application outside the country that is identical to, or in substance relates to, the same invention as that filed in the application submitted to the Registration Authority, he must, in addition to the number and date of that application, submit the following documents to that authority as annexes:

  1. 1.A copy of any decision, letter, or notice the applicant has received in connection with the results of examinations carried out in respect of the applications filed outside the country.
  2. 2.A copy of the patent certificate registered on the basis of the applications filed outside the country (if any).
  3. 3.A copy of any final decision refusing the application or refusing registration of the invention claimed in the applications filed outside the country.
  4. 4.A copy of any final decision invalidating the patent certificate issued on the basis of the applications filed outside the country.

Note — The said applicant may register the said invention in Iran only if no more than twelve months have elapsed from the filing of his first application outside the country.
