Article 21

An applicant for priority must request, in writing and together with his application, the priority right he has acquired as a result of filing one or more national, regional, or international applications in one of the member countries of the Paris Convention. The applicant must also, within one month, provide a copy or transcript of the application certified by the authority with which the application forming the basis of the priority was filed. Upon acceptance of the priority claim, the protections set forth in the Paris Convention shall apply to it. In the event of non-compliance with the conditions set forth in this Article and other relevant regulations, the said request shall be invalid.
