Claiming priority
An applicant claiming priority must, in writing and together with their application, request the priority right acquired as a result of filing one or more national, regional, or international applications in one of the member countries of the Paris Convention. The applicant must also, within one month, provide a copy or transcript of the application certified as the basis of the priority right by the authority with which it was filed. Upon acceptance of the priority claim, the protections set out in the Paris Convention shall apply to it. Failure to comply with the conditions set out in this Article and the other relevant rules renders the said request invalid.
