The claims

The claim or claims must define the scope of protection of the invention in a clear, concise, and complete manner, and must not go beyond the framework of the description.

Note — Each claim of an invention shall be the basis for assessment by the Registration Authority and for adjudication of infringement actions before the competent judicial authority.
